Digital Monopoly shakes up their digital know-how at Google HQ in Sydney

The next instalment of our Digital Decisions series made its way to Google headquarters in Sydney, and what a turn out it was! With an interest from business owners all over town, we extended our stay to host 2 full capacity events.

It was our resident Google ambassador Fernanda Rivera’s turn to help us feel right at home (we loved hanging out there by the way!), as she provided the audience with valuable insights into how Google can give your business a competitive edge.

It’s always nice when you hear about the success of a company – straight from the top, and that’s exactly what Wayne Jones, owner of Lifestyle Wardrobes was here for. Definitely one of the highlights of our sessions, Wayne shared his journey about how he previously used to spend thousands of dollars on traditional forms of advertising each month (which wasn’t resulting in many leads), to moving to an online marketing model with profound results.

We sat down with Wayne afterwards to give us a bit of a low down on the impact Google has made to his business.

We had just rebranded our business and the new website was appearing on page 2 of Google. Being time poor and unsure of how to go about getting on page 1 prompted a call to Digital Monopoly.

1. Why did you enlist the help of Digital Monopoly?

We had just rebranded our business and the new website was appearing on page 2 of Google. Being time poor and unsure of how to go about getting on page 1 prompted a call to Digital Monopoly.

2. How did your organic search rankings fare before you commenced your SEO strategy?

Poorly, we were appearing on page 2 or further back. We just weren’t being found online and our business came to a standstill.

3. How are your positions for key search terms in the organic SERPs now?

Fantastic! We are on page 1 all the time and usually in the top 2 positions that we want to target. We started to receive more enquiries by phone and email.

4. Digital Monopoly also ran both search and display Google AdWords campaigns for Lifestyle Wardrobes, what did that do for your website traffic and lead generation?

It made a huge difference. We received more enquiries, started ranking higher in both campaigns and over a period of 6 months we were at the top of our targeted searches. Business improved!

5. How has your online presence and overall business performance improved as a result of the SEO strategy and paid search campaigns that were implemented?

It has improved dramatically over the last few years. We have maintained and dominated the top search positions online. It is much easier for clients to find us and make contact with us.

6. Are you doing any other kind of advertising or marketing, and which do you feel has given you the best return on investment (ROI)?

No, we dropped all print advertising completely. We just weren’t getting enough enquires for the cost and we couldn’t guarantee the printed advertising was being distributed. We have dabbled in a few other forms of advertising but the ROI is nowhere near that of online marketing.

With strategically designed SEO and paid search campaigns in place, Wayne saw his sales increase by $1.2 million within just 18 months! Website traffic increased by over 70% and Lifestyle Wardrobes were inundated with welcomed enquiries. He also significantly reduced his monthly advertising budget.

That was just a taste of what you would have heard at Digital Decisions. To find out more about our future events coming your way soon, connect with us on Facebook / Register your interest here.
